The resort features a 30,000 square foot antique auto and vintage fashion museum, which is rated the #1 attraction in Fairbanks on Trip Advisor. The world-class auto museum features outdoor exhibits and borders Wedgewood’s 75 acre wildlife sanctuary.

The wildlife sanctuary draws a crowd – a crowd of song and shore birds, moose and waterfowl. Featuring nature trails that lead to Wander Lake and Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.

Off the trailhead of the sanctuary is the Taiga Center that features free Alaskan movies during the summer on the 14 foot screen. Visit the trailhead kiosk outside the Taiga Center for trail maps to the wildlife sanctuary.

After a full day of exploring, enjoy a hearty dinner at the Golden Bear Restaurant or order a cold Alaskan draft beer in the Bears Tale Lounge with a friend.

For those who just need to kick back and enjoy the midnight sun while reading a book, walk to one of the on-site flower garden gazebos.

Choose a guided tour of the fabulous auto museum or simply stroll through the resort grounds with over 30 acres of beautifully flower gardens and wild Alaskan berries. Either way, ride the resorts on-site tram or simply use the paved walkways, just get out and enjoy the Midnight Sun and don’t forget the camera!

A giant cabbage patch grows on the property and an authentic sourdough trapper’s cabin can be found at the Alaskan Activity Island. The island is at the center of Wedgewood and houses an Alaska bush plane, a section of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, a dog sled used by Mary Shields during the Iditarod, and colorful display of wild Alaskan flowers. All would look great in your Alaskan photo journal.
